Better quality for the money I've ever seen is Orion Telescopes, you can get a 12-inch Dobsonian reflector for about $ 600usd

If there is 5000 pounds, making it a retro reflector instead of a Newton. Reflection on the LX?

If this is your budget, you can think about a series of 8 inches or IR as the LX Celestron C-8 or better. Suppose you have some experience in observing, travel well, because all they really need is to learn how to use the GOTO function, which can be cumbersome and frustrating for beginners, just to see manage the sky.

There are tips Standard I and others give to the questions of the telescope, many beginners are in demand. But first, it would be helpful if you gave an indication of their experience. The budget looks good, but want to know what you are getting before you leave your hard driveCattle. If you do not have much experience, then I suggest you spend a hell of a lot less in a completely different context.

Since approximately one third of the price you can get the volume of the same size Dobson "a", as stated above, one of the respondents. It depends on what you do ...
